Canon notes: There are two paths Benjamin's story goes down: the good end where he fuses with Thomas and technically dies or the bad end where he fuses with Thomas and is the one in control and shit goes terribly wrong. Benjamin's from the bad end.
Species: Dragon god, but officially a dragon/angel hybrid
History:
-Born/Created as the dragon of light alongside his twin brother, the dragon of light, by his parents the dragons of fire and ice (Nate Silverman and Alice Hawkins)
-One of his first acts was to create the shapeshifter race, sentient saber-toothed cats that have the ability to change form to hide among the different races to keep themselves safe. As the creator of the shapeshifters, he is lovingly referred to as Grandfather by the shifters, no matter what generation they are from the originals.
-Alongside his twin brother, he was caught up in a fight between his parents on how to run humanity. His mother turned both him and his brother into cannibals and sent them out after their six older siblings to kill and eat them. Working together, the two of them were able to hunt down and kill all of their siblings at least once, with some being killed upwards to over a hundred times.
-Eventually, they were captured by Nate and imprisoned for nearly ten thousand years while he tried to figure out what to do with them. While he couldn't reverse what Alice did and he had destroyed her in a fit of rage, so she wasn't around to force into helping.
-Nate decided to wipe their memories, make them immortal, and contain their powers so it would be impossible for them to know they were once dragons. Turned into children, Nate dropped them off among a group of nomads to be raised.
-Benjamin was raised to believe he was a werejackal while his brother Michael was thought to be a vampire. While Benjamin was content to try to be normal and ended up with a wife and children, Michael was jealous as vampires could not have children. Michael eventually ripped out Benjamin's heart to try and kill him, but both siblings found out that he was immortal. Horrified by this, Benjamin fled his home.
-Wandering east, Benjamin made his way to China and found himself caught up in a fight between a rampaging weretiger and a group of monster hunters. He dove into battle to stop the weretiger and successfully did so, but Benjamin himself was soon attacked, momentarily killed, and then imprisoned by the monster hunters.
-After an extended period of time, he finally learned learned the language and realized that not all therians were immortal like he was. This crushed any self-esteem he still had and any chances of having a normal life. After even more time, the monster hunters freed him and he stuck around, helping them take down others of his kind that were a threat to humanity.
-He eventually has a daughter, but she gets killed and is returned to life because she's immortal too. Benjamin just goes fuck this shit and leaves to return to the west.
-Ending up in Europe, he finds that his brother has started a reign of terror in a few cities. Benjamin tries to kill him multiple times and fails. Eventually he succeeds...and fails because guess what, his brother can't die either.
-Insert a few hundred years where he wanders around like the depressed suicidal werejackal he is here.
-Ends up meeting his older brother Jack, the dragon of poison, and starts an unknowingly incestuous relationship with him. This knocks him out of his depressed suicidal woe is me tour for a good while.
-Around the beginning of World War II, he moves to the Americas, more specifically his world's version of the United States, and takes up his current alias of Benjamin Franklin Chamberlain.
-He joins the Bureau of Supernatural Affairs and works his way up the ranks until he becomes Director after the previous one retired in the early 70s. His first act is to round up the nephilim (angel/human hybrids) created during the war and keep an eye on them. Two of his best agents are butchered when they find proof of another organization gathering up nephilim for their own uses.
-Michael and his "son" Maxwell (actually a descendant of Benjamin's that Michael took under his wing and experimented upon) created the Order in Canada just to piss off Benjamin. It worked and he's forced to deal with a liaison from the Order while sending one of his own men to deal with them.
-Said liaison is Gabriel Faolan, a werewolf from the most powerful supernatural families on the continent. They get along incredibly well and start dating, able to keep their professional and personal lives separate enough to make it work.
-The relationship ends amicably when Gabriel leaves for home to raise his daughter and deal with the affairs of his family.
